Okay, the owner is actually a teenager, but “tween” went so much better with the saying don’t you think?

I can’t take credit for today’s before and after dresser makeover – all I did was give an eager teenager a few tips and she did all of the work.

Let’s start with the before:

Dresser makeover - from boring black to quad-coloured teen dream! Painted dresser.

The dresser wasn’t in bad shape at all – no nicks, scratches, dents and all of the drawers slid beautifully – but Meghan wanted something a bit “cooler” than boring black for her room…

so she took it upon herself to transform this black beauty into a multi-coloured masterpiece!

Admit it, if you were still a teenager (or even can vaguely remember being a teenager) you’d rather have the gorgeous gray dresser too wouldn’t you?

With just a little guidance and the use of a few power tools, Meghan sanded, primed, painted and drilled new holes for the hardware, finishing the entire dresser makeover – by herself!

I’m sort of hoping I’ve created a monster with this dresser makeover.  I have more than a few pieces of furniture in the garage that could use a facelift and it was nice having company while I worked.

This is the second piece of the bedroom suite;  you may remember the nightstand we added a shelf to last week?

If you’re looking to learn how to makeover a piece of furniture, or would like to get a group together to refinish a small project each – drop me a line…  I might be able to arrange a learn-as-you-do evening for small groups.

Great job Megs!

Have a great one!
