We had a spectacular weekend here in SW Ontario; blue skies and warmish weather. That, coupled with friends and family for not one, but TWO Thanksgiving feasts, left everyone even more grateful than usual. Grateful for our loved ones, for the privileges we have that many do not, grateful for our health – and I’ll be honest, I was pretty grateful for baggy jogging pants as well. If you are looking for your dream home there are a lot of places to look for tips to prepare you for that, for example, websites like residencestyle.com could be helpful to your dream home search.

Part of our weekend festivities included touring the 2016 Fall Lottery Dream Home.

2016 Dream Lottery Home - Wastell Homes

London has some of the best hospitals in the world, and patients come from all over for specialized care and treatment.

We are so privileged to have these facilities and the brilliant staff so close to home, but we are also incredibly grateful that we don’t need their talents or services (knock wood). Thanksgiving (both the Canadian and American versions) for many will be spent in the hospital corridors or undergoing some treatment that makes a traditional family gathering impossible. (insert an extra hug for your Hubby and kiddos here).

Each year in Spring and again in Autumn we have the Dream It, Win It dream home lottery to raise money for patients who have to utilize the hospitals. A huge perk of this fundraiser, beyond raising money and getting the warm and fuzzies for participating, is touring the grand prize dream home.

I love windows, so I’d be pretty happy just to win a painting of the house – isn’t it gorgeous?!

The grand-prize dream home was donated by Wastell Builders and it is stunning.

This is my room (we all claimed our rooms while touring through) and this luxurious living room right off of the front foyer, bathed in natural light, is mine. Yup, I have a pretty clear mental image of me enjoying this space thoroughly.

Across the foyer you come to this spectacular dining room. I’m pretty sure the lighting and window treatments cost more than my entire home. Who would have thought black could be so bright and airy?

The dining room flows into the dramatic black kitchen.

Are you kidding me?!

Off of the kitchen you have the family room:

I’m pretty sure the majority of the dream home is painted in Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore and it is absolutely perfect. I was particularly taken with the upper staircase and how flawlessly the paintings blended all of the elements together.

There are two bedrooms with a more masculine feel connected by a shared bathroom. I loved that this one in particular had an extra “nook” to be used as an office or play space.

I totally need a “nook”.

The dream home master bedroom had not one, but TWO walk-in closets.

and the ensuite bathroom had a giant soaker tub and the wall behind hosts a double entrance to a ginormous shower with both a rainhead and hand-held shower. Did I mention the shower has windows too? Spectacular natural light!

Probably my favourite room of the house was “Chloe’s” (because she got there before Madison). This is sublime in my books; the coral bedding perfectly coordinated with the paintings and pillows.

In every Wastell Home dream home they do something over-the-top. If the kitchen didn’t immediately make your draw jop, wait till you see the man cave they’ve created:

Beyond our hospitals and University, my city is also famous for its hockey team – the London Knights – and our city is hockey-CRA-Z! Creating a man cave themed after a favourite pastime seems obvious right?

But not taking it to the next level and actually having an indoor rink!

Did you notice the cheering fans in the glass around the room? I have never seen anything like this – ever!

Needless to say Hubby stamped his name on the basement (which also hosts another seating area and more televisions). I’m pretty sure in this house, I’d be okay with my family burrowing in their respective dens… and leaving me to enjoy mine.

Want to see more?

Oh yes, there’s LOTS more! (and you really want to see it) I haven’t even touched on the home office, the luxurious bathrooms, the basement den or the other bedroom!

Click over to DreamItWinit.ca for the dream home address if you want to see it live, or for the photo gallery of the rest. If you’ve bought your dream home, see how you can build your smart home with the latest labour saving technology.

We’re totally planning on winning it, but if you’re feeling competitive and want to get in on the action and support an incredible cause, please support DreamItWinit.ca.

Oh! And Mike Holmes himself will be there next weekend!

Have a great one!

One last point, my friend recently had some property damage happen to their property so they decided to take legal action against those that committed it. They decided to go on the hunt for a lawyer, they decided to visit websites similar to view website. In the end, they decided to go with a different legal representative.

  1. Thanks for publishing this. I have actually been a long
time supporter for allowing the elderly to continue living at home but I have actually never ever been obliged to
leave a remark. I’ve bookmarked your site and shared this post on my Facebook.

Thanks again for a terrific post!
