I’ve seen a navy dresser on the internet somewhere – she was a blogger trying to sell it at Luckett’s Market. I (stupidly) didn’t pin the image and now I can’t find it anywhere.
It was gorgeous – a really beautiful piece and the navy and gold that she finished it in made it all the more stunning.
So it was time for me to try a navy dresser as well;
I wasn’t so keen on the wooden handles, so while I was using the wood filler I filled in the holes from these as well.
Which got me to thinking, I’ve never shown how I determine new handle placement.
I have a bit of a short-cut since “9cm on centre” means nothing to me.
I should add – make sure when drilling that you are drilling straight up and down. Even a slight tilt to your drill will cause the screw to be slightly angled and then you’ll really have to work to get the handle to thread. (Ask how I know this. lol)
What do you think?
Perfectly even from the sides of the tallboy and perfectly centred (height-wise) on the drawer itself…. with one template!
I’m debating on adding more gold accents – a grain-sack stripe, or a gold frame around each drawer?
I’m not sure – sometimes a little goes a long way?
If you haven’t seen my “Refinished/Repurposed Furniture” board on Pinterest – you really should check it out.
It is PACKED with great furniture makeovers that I’ve come across and hope to try sometime.
Have a great one!
