The reviews I usually write on the blog are for companies that can ship their items all over the world, or for services that can be done via FaceTime or Skype – so that everyone that reads the blog is able to participate.
Not this post.
This post is specifically for people living in London. Perhaps people visiting London, or traveling through London or even living in the vicinity of London… everyone else, I’m sorry – but let me tell you it would be worth a side-trip this way to verify my claims.
Hubby and I went out to dinner last night with some friends. We decided to try a lesser-known restaurant because another friend had told us great things.
Downtown London holds a small gem of a restaurant called “Unique Food Attitudes“. While the name doesn’t tell you much about the cuisine – I will tell you that this is the very BEST Polish food I have ever tasted (granted, I have not been to Poland).
Last night’s special was a pierogi version of a Canadian classic – poutine; in lieu of french fries, UFA uses fresh potato and cheddar pierogies. Instead of gravy, they use goulash (beef stew and gravy), and then it’s all topped off with cheese.
I wish I’d taken a photo, but I really didn’t know that it was going to be THAT good.
We had potato pancakes, goulash, krokiety and borsch. We shared the pierogi poutine, apple pancakes and a peach-coconut cheesecake that was spectacular!
Every morsel of food was delicious – and agreed upon unanimously by all 6 of us.
The best part was the food and the company of course – but if you needed added incentive to try out my recommendation – dinner for Hubby and I (including dessert and tip) came to less than $60.
Barbara Czyz also caters and offers traditional lunches etc – but if you are looking for authentic and savoury, you really should try their dinner menu.
This is not a sponsored post – Barbara doesn’t even know I’ve written it – we (the 6 of us that attended last night) were just so thrilled with the food, the service and the ambiance – that I was (easily) coerced into doing an informal critique…. although, there really isn’t anything to critique.
Six resounding thumbs up!
Thank you Barbara and staff – we will all be back and will bring friends!
