Book Review – Me Before You Jojo Moyes

Did everyone have an amazing weekend?  It was absolutely SPECTACULAR here in SW Ontario – sun, sun and more sun.

The weather found me on the patio with friends, with the kids, by myself, with the dog – any excuse to sit outside and enjoy our long awaited Summer/long weekend.

Which got me to thinking – it’s about time to send out a tip for summer reading isn’t it?

I actually finished “Me Before You” a couple of weeks ago – in one sitting – […]

Book Review: The Rosie Project

My book reviews aren’t current at all are they?

I hear about books from friends or online, but they’ve usually been out for months, perhaps even years, before I get to them.

This is one of those  – but on the off-chance that you haven’t read The Rosie Project – I thought I’d post my take on it.

Two book reviews in one week?

I know!  I haven’t finished two books in the last three months – but, and as you may have guessed, I’m on VACAAAAAY!

Which means I’m away from my power tools and hot glue, so I can sit and enjoy a book without any (or very much) guilt.

I was surfing Instagram months ago and I came across Reese Witherspoon’s feed – now with the exception of The Rock, I don’t follow celebrities; I don’t find they […]

Book Review: Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson

This is my second Jenny Lawson book and as long as she keeps writing them, it won’t be my last.

I’ve previously posted a review about Jenny’s first book “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened – an almost true memoir” – a hilarious look at her dysfunctional/delightful childhood.

Her second book “Furiously Happy” which delivers on Jenny’s antics since the last novel, is equally as funny but touches on the truth behind (her) mental health issues and helps those of us fortunate enough not […]

Book Review: People I Want to Punch in the Throat

I bought this book just after Christmas, and I will admit, based solely on the title:  “People I Want to Punch in the Throat”.

I mean, we all come across one or two people in our day-to-day lives that could use a quick shot to the larynx to smarten them up – so I had to see whom Jen Mann was offering up.

People I want to punch in the throat:
• anyone who feels the need to bling her washer and dryer
• […]

It’s here!

Later than I’d planned and a bit thinner than I’d expected (we’re talking thousands of words and hundreds of photos), but it’s here in all of it’s glossy coloured goodness!

Let me have a little brag here – this was written by a woman that lost her job a few years ago and had to start again from scratch.  I started this blog […]
