How to Freeze Bagels

This tip is courtesy of Great Canadian Bagel – they had it written right on the bag, so I have to give credit where credit is due – but for those of you that buy your bagels elsewhere, you might not know this fantastic tidbit….

If you are like us, you buy a dozen at a time and freeze half so they don’t mold before you get to them.

Did you know that if you cut them in half before freezing,

they will be toaster-ready right out of the freezer?

When you are craving that next bagel, just bring out the halves and put them straight into the toaster – no defrosting!

I would have been concerned about freezer-burn, but if you remove as much air as possible from the bag before freezing, this won’t be an issue either.

Freeze bagels?  I LOVE this!

Another one of those tips that should have been completely obvious, but I would never have come up with.

    Bagels never last long enough around me to worry about mold!!! For that reason I don’t buy them often or cream cheese. They call my name right through the pantry door at all times of the day and night. My fav is a garlic bagel warm enough to make the chunk of cream cheese go soft and squishy! Yum! Thanks for sharing.
