100 Things 2 Do This Summer:

I had heard of hair chalking before, and had even seen little compacts of it at our hair salon, but I always thought it was just regular chalk.

I (wrongly) assumed, you could break up some vibrantly coloured sidewalk chalk, maybe water it down a bit into a paste, and then apply it to your hair.

Not so my friends, not so.

Turns out the chalk you need does have a bit of an oil pastel texture to it.  It’s still made with talc, but there’s something added that doesn’t leave your hair feeling like a stack of hay on your head.

This is what we picked up from our hair salon:

I’m not going to give a link or share the name, because I have since found that you could buy sets like these for far less:

$6.99 at Amazon.com

The instructions say to dry the hair first, apply hairspray to protect the cuticles and then apply the chalk.

After that, if you want the colour to last a couple of days, you’ll need to flat iron the hair to “set” the colour.

Obviously if you’re a blonde, the colours will be more vibrant and will show longer.

This turned out to be a bit more labour-intensive than I had planned, but the girls loved it.

Another item ticked off of our list!
 Omg yes
 Have a great one!

The reason why the stuff on Amazon is cheaper is because it is not a cosmetic. You are not supposed to put that stuff on your hair and skin!
