We had a GORGEOUS Thanksgiving weekend in Southwestern Ontario – sunny and warm with a slight breeze – just stupendous!

We gorged enjoyed two Thanksgiving meals this weekend – a “gobble-till-I-wobbled” turkey with my Dad and a fall-apart roast beef and yorkshire pudding with my Mom and Step-Dad.

I ate till I could eat no more….

and then I had dessert.

I am STILL full – and very, very grateful for an amazing, decadent, loving family weekend.

Today however, I needed to get outside and work one or two calories off – and since I’m still in September’s Autumn decorating mode, I thought it might be time to introduce a bit of Hallowe’en decor into the mix.

Our “Witch Way” direction sign is out and ready to direct trick-or-treaters to their sugary demise.

Hallowe'en decorating ideas for outdoors

My favourite decoration, despite the fact that I need a 12 foot ladder to put it up, is my “Monster’d front porch”.  This one is such a hit that people actually drive by my house and take photographs of it…. and all it consists of is some plywood, foundation paper and a bit of paint to create.  This is our third year with the same one an he’s still in excellent condition.

Outdoor Halloween 1

I really should make a sign post for our “Dead & Breakfast” sign.  That may be coming soon if I can get to it in time.

Outdoor Halloween 2

And of course “Frankie” – not a handmade decor item, but a favourite with the neighbourhood kids.
Outdoor Halloween 3

I’m sure Hubby and the girls will up the game and bring in some skeletons and blood, and we can’t forget carved pumpkins – but baby steps….
