It’s the beginning of October which means it’s time to start the Hallowe’en hijinks – namely the ring-and-run fun of “You’ve been Boo’d!”

Make up two small bags of Hallowe’en treats, print off these tags and attach – then sneak up to your friends’ doors and …

DROP, RING and RUN!

The idea is that a Hallowe’en goblin dropped the pre-Hallowe’en fun off at the recipient’s door.

My girls headed out earlier this week just past dusk and stealthily snuck up to our victims’ homes.  There was some ducking, crouching, bobbing and weaving and a whole lot of giggling as they tried to escape unnoticed.

This isn’t supposed to be an expensive task, just a little treat to ramp up the excitement for Hallowe’en…

but you have to start NOW!

In order for the Hallowe’en fun “You’ve Been Boo’d” to hit as many kids as possible, you’ll need about two weeks for it to snowball so no one gets left out.

Once your child has been Boo’d, just hang the sign that was attached with the treats to the front door so that you don’t get hit twice and so another child will get their turn.

My girls are 9 and 11 now and they still love the “You’ve Been Boo’d” tradition.  Choosing little goodies, wrapping them up, the stealth and cunning for the drop and of course getting a surprise in return are highlights of Fall.

There is the option to up your game (if your neighbourhood doesn’t have many kids) to “You’ve been Boozed!” for your favourite grown-ups.

Click the images below for your free printable so you can get “BOOing!”  (black and white so you don’t eat up all your printer ink (wink))
