Good morning and Happy Canada Day!

This hot weather has me melting, but given the winter we just came out of, I hate to spend much time indoors.  I havemy patio all set up with a fan moving the air constantly, the Intex pool nearby and a FOLDING PING-PONG TABLE on the patio.

Yup, I built my own ping-pong table complete with a working drawer (which almost didn’t work when I was tempted to throw it across the yard) and folding legs and…  the very best part…

IT FOLDS!

Yes, most ping-pong tables fold, but mine folds in the opposite direction to those you buy at stores which means it takes up only 11″ of floor space to store!

I’m awesome, I know.

The full building plans, including step-by-step tutorial is over on JenWoodhouse.com, but I’m going to show off share a couple of photos here to tempt your appetite.

This is the drawer that just about brought me to a stroke – I could NOT get it to fit… until I re-checked for square and found that one of my boards was bowed.  UGH!  A waste of two hours, but lesson learned.

It stores the net, the ping-pong balls and at least 6 ping-pong paddles – and it closes up to almost invisible!

I clad the sides in (pseudo) copper to protect them and give it a little sparkle.

The folding legs weren’t as expensive as you’d think – in fact, I scored these for $25 for the pair!  Head over to Jen’s for the details.

I have our DIY ping-pong table out on the patio right now, but once you fold it up, it is easily brought inside to the garage, or in our case, the basement for winter fun as well.
