MY NEW WEBSITE

I am through-the-roof HAPPY!

I’ve been wishing for a new website for quite some time now, but things like this either take a LOT of time in learning and implementing – or if you hire someone – cost a LOT. One estimate I received rang in at over $6,000 to have a site created and all of my content migrated to it. Sure, I’d like all the bells and whistles – but that is a lot of money. I’m sure that’s not even the high-end, so it remained on my wish list as a “someday” item for when I got ‘big enough’. Either that or I was getting prepared to teach myself everything I would have needed to know to code and develop my own website using advice websites like afterhoursprogramming.com and others.

Then I met Michelle.

Michelle of Carter Creations. (Also of The Londonpreneur Show – which is where I met her), but for this post… Michelle my Fairy Godmother!

Carter Creations does “Web Development, Web Design, Web Marketing, Coaching & Consulting” – and she did every one of those things for me and here we are – launching my “someday” wish TODAY!

Carter Creations was able to build this, migrate all of my content, analytics, RSS feeds, even Pinterest pin links for a (small) FRACTION of what I’d been quoted before. (I have permission to disclose – this gorgeousness came in at $1,200!) Totally affordable for small businesses or burgeoning bloggers!

And here we are, with a new website ready to take on the WORLD! Come on Chatelaine, you know you want me to be a featured blogger for you now!

Some of the perks (just a few) are the categories for the blog posts. The HOME page will continue to put up my posts as they go live, but there are tabs across the top sorting each post into it’s forever home.

Below you’ll see my “100 Lists” tab which houses both my printable 100 lists and any other free printable that has been on the blog over the last year and a half (as well as going forward).

Jennifer (JJ’s Kitchen) will have a special page of her own for her healthy, homemade recipes, but beneath it under “Other Recipes” you’ll see all of the other less-than-healthy recipes as well.

Under the tab titled “Blog” you’ll find articles sectioned by topic.

This is a new gadget (that I love)…. if you surf the site for a period of time, you’ll get this pop-up message reminding you to sign up for e-mail updates. Ideally, you’d sign up – but if it bugs you, feel free to close it (after you sign up).

Down the right sidebar you’ll still see all of my amazing sponsors and you can click any image to access their stores and/or Facebook pages (please click, they are wonderful people and their products/services really are worthy of your time).

Beneath that we have a new feature:

As you go to each page to check out the content you’ll see a ‘feature photo’ of what the post is about as well as the article title. Click either to read the article in its entirety.

There were over 600 posts that had to be migrated from blogger to this new site, so not all of them have been updated with a ‘feature photo’ as of yet. In those instances you’ll just see the article title and date. In some cases you may even see my signature image – that’s just a placeholder until I get through the rest of the posts and insert a more appropriate photo.

Stay tuned – there aren’t many to go and I’m working as fast as I can.

Again, I have to give a huge, ginormous and very sincere thank you and shout-out to Michelle of Carter Creations. She created this beauty and made my dream come true – even without my lottery ticket coming in.

I am unbelievably grateful and so proud to show of my new baby.

Thank you Michelletruly.

For you, my readers… go surf! Check out all of the new bells and whistles! This was built with you in mind – so have fun, and you might just come across articles you hadn’t seen before!

Oh, and tell all your friends please?!
