I tried Googling images to find out what exactly this little table might have been used for.
I couldn’t find anything that looked like this, so I’m guessing it might have been an old school desk? Perhaps a ladies vanity? Maybe even a small sewing desk?
I have no idea – but it was given to me by my friend Kate who thought I might be able to bring it back to life.
Yeah, there were a few things that needed a facelift:
It’s a small piece, and since I decided to paint the legs, the refinished antique table really didn’t take much time at all.
A little buff:
A little polish (and wood filler):
and a few screws to get rid of the “rickety-ness” and the refinished antique table looks good as new!
I even painted the inside of the little drawer in the white, to give it a nice fresh feel – ready for new makeup, or pencils or bobbins.
Chloe is using it as a nightstand at the moment, but I can see her changing it over to hold makeup and a small mirror when she gets older. It’s the perfect size really, and the drawer tucks her personals away for a clean and organized storage solution.
Seems it’s been “Antique Week” on the blog of late?
But the before and afters are oh-so-gratifying!
There’s just something about giving a really old piece a new life that gives me a little endorphin buzz!
Yes, I need a life.
Have a great one – and thank you Kate!
