A few flowers, some eggs and a bird house and you have a warm and welcoming Spring front porch.

The funny thing about this is that we got a blizzard two days after I finished setting up my Spring front porch.

Typical.

It rains the day after I wash my car as well.  I bring it on – honestly.

Regardless, my Spring decor is out there to encourage the first robin to grace us with his/her presence.

I built this cute bird house display using some scrap wood, scrapbook paper and a bit of paint – the full tutorial is available on the National DIY Day blog page (of which I am an “Ambassador” – yaaaay!)

I mean, nothing says Spring more than birds right?

Okay – maybe forsythia is a close second;

These are some faux branches I picked up at Pier One a few years ago.  I had planned to create a beautiful display on my coffee table (per the magazine photos), but the stems were too tall and got in the way of everyone’s view of the TV.

The first sign of Spring in Canada is the approach of the Stanley Cup Playoffs – Hubby hopes every year for the “resurrection” of his precious Leafs – and no forsythia can disrupt him in these devotions.

If you are fortunate enough to have early blooms in your area, then you should definitely decorate with the real thing (I’m so jealous!), but if you’re north of Kentucky, or Salzburg, then faux stems will see you through until the real ones bloom.

Tulips are another sign of the season, so I included a couple/few bunches here and there.

When you put it all together – you get a sunny feeling (even in a blizzard) with this simple and welcoming Spring front porch!

I’m going to go wash my car now and see if I can’t get the rain to wash away the snow. lol

Have a great one!

Too funny
