Looking for a delectable treat from Starbie’s, but the thought of paying $5 for a square makes your ass clench?  Today I’m sharing the recipe for Starbucks Oat Bars (or a VERY close knock-off) that will satisfy your craving AND give you a dozen for the same price!

I’m not a food blogger, I just share recipes on here for things that I really like – and let’s be honest – that I want to have the recipe for with just a click.

So, no need for me to write for ages about these super-delicious, relatively-healthy, craving-satisfying Starbucks oat bars.

I’ll just post the recipe here.

Starbucks Oat Bars

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325°F. (163°C)

Line an 8″x8″ glass baking dish with parchment paper. (20cm x 20cm)

Grind down 2 cups (250g) of the oats in a blender or food processor to create a flour.

Melt the butter, sugar, and corn syrup until dissolved.

The mixture will just barely boil.

Remove from heat.

Add vanilla, milk and (optional) cinnamon.  Stir to mix well.

Add oat flour and remaining quick oats.  Stir well.

(pause in recipe to drool a little.  I could totally eat this as-is!)

Press mixture into baking dish.

Bake at 325° (163°C) for 17-20 minutes.

If you prefer the chocolate covered Starbucks oat bars, then add a sprinkling (to taste) of semi-sweet chocolate chips over the oat bars, then spread with a spatula as they melt.

Once cooled, pull the parchment paper out of the baking dish and cut into squares.

I don’t mind the chocolate oat bars, but the plain ones with cinnamon are my favourite.

I don’t have the exact nutritional values for these Starbucks oat bars, but they come in around 310 calories per bar at Starbucks.  These are all the same ingredients, so I expect the calories to be in the same ballpark.

The great part is that you have all of the yumminess of Starbucks, but with a dozen to enjoy for less than the price of one from your barista.

That’s not to say that your home-barista (that’s me) wouldn’t gratefully accept a tip as positive reinforcement to keep making these.

Just saying.

Have a great one!
