Happy Weekend!

What an incredible, wonderful, beautiful weekend we had here in SW Ontario!  Sunshine, warmth with the slightest breeze – absolutely spectacular!

Hubby got our pool filled up, Maddie, Papa and I took a pottery class together, I went shoe shopping for Chloë (ahem, and me),

Converse, Cons, peach converse, chuck taylors

and I took a photography course at a local Henry’s.  The weekend was full of fun, learning and family – I’m still basking in the afterglow!

But it means I wasn’t really working on a lot of new projects – or I was, but I haven’t seen them to completion yet – so I can’t share any amazing before and afters today.

Instead, I’m going to revisit an old post that is so fitting for our family now…

water bottle storage and organization.

With both girls in sports 4 – 5 nights a week and Hubby on two teams himself – water bottles are always in demand around here.  Sports bottles and travel mugs (so I can have my refreshment at the field as well), but it means we have dozens that need storage, and no space to store them.

Enter the multi-purpose shoe hanger:

I used two screws, with drywall plugs, and put our shoe hanger in the mudroom – close to cleats, shin pads and cheer shoes as well as in a direct path out the door.  If you are hesitant to put holes in the wall, the 3M Command hooks would work equally well.

Mommy’s thermos mugs on the top shelf and all the sports bottles organized a bit lower for easy reach.

Lids below the bottles so they don’t get mixed up and so the bottles can dry out completely after washing.

Grab a quick fill-up and you’re out the door!

No cupboard space taken up, no floor space, or pantry-shelf real estate wasted.  Granted, I wouldn’t want this by the front door on an obvious wall, but tucked inside a front closet, or to the back of the closet door would work as well.

Easy, inexpensive and functional – my family has used this for a couple of years now and this water bottle storage solution really is perfect.  (I’m tempted to buy another to get our flip flop addiction under control!)

Now I just have to go find where the 6 that are missing have been hidden?  (best bets are in the trunk of one of our cars, or forgotten inside a sports bag).

Even that thought isn’t enough to dull my glow.

Happy Weekend everyone – I hope it was a great one!
