I received the Pfister Raya faucet in exchange for providing a review to my readers.
I’ve mentioned before that we built our house back in 2005 and, as with any build, costs were a constant concern so we opted for “builder’s grade” on a few essentials, like faucets, because we knew we could upgrade down the road. We recently bought a load of new kitchen products after reading some reviews on Product Expert and now we have bought a kitchen faucet.
One of our budget-buys was this little kitchen faucet.
It worked and it matched, and when you’re on a tight budget that’s the best you can ask for. It’s important to look extensively to ensure you have found the right one for you. Helpful Habitat might be useful in your search.
When Pfister offered me the opportunity to tryout their new Raya 1-handle electronic pull-down kitchen faucet with React technology – you know I started salivating like one of Pavlov’s dogs.
First perk – look at the difference in size!
You can easily fill large soup pots or buckets for cleaning without having to shimmy and tip under the faucet head.
To give you an idea, this is a 3-quart saucepan (which is pretty large) and I can swing it in and out with ease!
The height is actually just the tip of the iceberg with this kitchen faucet:
The sleek, minimalistic Raya is the ergonomic sink topper that generates faucet envy, yet features everything you expect of a Pfister faucet. Experience the extendable spray head with stream, spray and pause functionality. The React™ technology allows you to speed through dish washing and food prep by activating your faucet with a simple wave of the hand. The touch-free operation also helps to keep the spread of germs in check. You’ll soon understand what an exceptional faucet can do for your favorite room in the house.
- React – convenient touch-free response activated technology within 3″ of sensor
- SmartStop – automatically shuts off the faucet after 3 minutes of inactivity
- Manual override – use the handle to operate the faucet at any time
- Handle forward design – ideal for installation near the backsplash or in tight space
- 4AA batteries included
- Pforever Seal – advanced ceramic disc valve technology with a never leak guarantee
- Pfister Pforever Warranty® covers finish and function for life
- Mounting hardware included
- Installs with or without deckplate (included)
- Includes top filling, matching soap dispenser

The Pfister Raya kitchen faucet can be installed over 1, 2 , 3 or 4 sink holes because it comes with an additional cover plate (not pictured) and a top-filling soap dispenser (not pictured)
We had a one-hole opening, so we went with the faucet itself and decided against drilling a second hole for the soap dispenser component.
Installation was a breeze with clear and simple instructions – no need for a plumber at all.
Includes 36” integrated PE-RT supply lines with 3/8” female fittings. No need to purchase separate water-supply connection lines.
The motion sensor on the Pfister Raya faucet can be powered by this little battery pack that we’ve tucked under the sink, or there is an optional plug you can get.
The sensor is the small oval near the base of the faucet and to work it, you just wave your hand within 3″ and the water will automatically turn on and off. We found that the Raya React can actually discern the difference between a hand and a pot and it won’t turn on just by moving dishes from sink to sink. (How does it do that?!)
You can use the faucet in manual mode if you’d rather and turn the water off and on – but the health benefits alone are more than reason to use the hands-free option.
You can rinse off your hands after rolling peanut butter balls, or wash up after handling raw chicken – without transferring dirt and bacteria to the faucet to share with the next person. I’m terrible for coming in with dirty paintbrushes and paint-covered hands, so hands-free is an outstanding perk.
Select from 3 water settings – Spray for easy cleaning, Stream for everyday use, or Pause for one-handed start and stop convenience
We are fortunate to have our kitchen sink located in a large central island, but the Pfister Raya with React technology is actually ideal for tight spaces with the faucet handle regulating temperature by moving it forward.
What if you’re filling the sink to get the dishes going and suddenly one of the kids cries out – don’t worry (unless it’s about your child) – the Pfister Raya has an auto-stop function which shuts the tap off after 3 minutes of inactivity.
Kids are safe, floor isn’t flooded.
The Raya, like all Pfister faucets, is made to meet or exceed the CALGreen criteria and is CEC compliant:
Water-efficient product meeting the standards of the California Energy Commission (CEC). CEC compliant faucets and shower heads use significantly less water than standard products while still meeting strict performance guidelines. Rated to meet or exceed CALGreen criteria, which helps to conserve water in the average home by at least 20 percent.
If all the above benefits of the Pfister Raya React faucet aren’t enough to get you on-board, Pfister also offers a lifetime warranty on finish and function – the Pfister Pforever Warranty.
Finish and FUNCTION!
Plus it’s so sleek!
Beautifully minimal. Dramatic without being obscene. Form and function (my two favourite things!)
We’ve been enjoying the Pfister Raya for a couple of weeks now and with the exception of the time that Hubby set his hand on fire and was waving it too fast for the sensor to acknowledge – we’ve found this to be brilliant!
I’m always thinking ahead to the changes that will come as baby-boomers age – and lever handles and hands-free really is going to be the wave of the future. I don’t have arthritis (yet), but there are days when even I battle with my Tylenol lid. Get a Pfister Raya for yourself and one as a Christmas gift for your parents so everyone wins! And don’t forget to get them in contact with affordable local handyman services to have their faucet installed as soon as possible.
Heck, even my kids wash their hands now!
Have a great one!
