I don’t know what to tell you – it’s scrap paper and adhesive magnets.

Not much to say as far as a tutorial goes, but clearly there are people out there that have been creating a marketplace for these super-simple magnetic bookmarks – and have been getting screwed!

They’re very cute – but $5- $8 for six is crazy!

I bought these adhesive magnets and made dozens on dozens of various versions of magnetic bookmarks…. within minutes.

Mine are strips of leftover scrapbook paper cut to 1.5″ by 6″ and then folded in half.

Place two magnets together, press onto one side of the bookmark and then fold the other half over top and you’re done!  Your magnets will be perfectly lined up.

Why magnetic?

So that they stay in place if you carry a book around with you, or to mark a page in a planner.  If you shake your book or drop it, the magnets will keep the bookmark in place so you don’t lose your page.

I made a few magnetic bookmarks with quotes and images and laminated them for durability.

But you could go with straight paper.  Amazing Amy made a couple of dozen magnetic bookmarks for her daughter’s class and I made another couple of dozen for Chloe’s (seen in the cello box in the background).

Forget the expensive ones, mine came to $0.20 each!

Save your money, use up your scrap paper and get the kids involved.

It is SOOOO easy.

Have a great one!
