Do you have loved ones with the unfortunate luck of having a November or December birthday? Where their special day gets lost in the chaos that is the Christmas Season? Celebrate their special day by changing up your Holiday decor and giving them a Birthday tree!
We have a November baby in this house.
A late November baby….
and a Mom with very little self-control when it comes to all things Christmas, so it’s definitely a struggle to make her birthday celebration stand out from the rest of the Holiday mayhem.
I’ve got to put a tree up fairly early to take advantage of blog traffic and trends, but I don’t want poor Chloë to think that her birthday isn’t as – make that more important than – any Holiday or blog post.
So I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone this year and get my tree up ready for decorating AFTER my baby turns 13, but decorated in a way that lets her know how special she is to us.
I give you a Birthday tree!
You can find inexpensive birthday decorations at the dollar store and go to town making an explosion of Happy Birthday fun!
I’m including Amazon (affiliate) links below in case you don’t have a dollar store near you. For full Amazon affiliate disclosure, please see sidebar or bottom of the page.
From here it was just a matter of tucking, fluffing and filling our Birthday tree with simple decorations.
I took 2 strands of pipe cleaner and twisted them together to make longer strands and then wrapped them tightly around a marker to get spirals.
This gave me an end that I could attach to the Birthday tree branches and the other end would “sproing” out (it’s a functioning verb if you can understand what I mean) similar to picks you’d see on a Christmas tree.
It looks great with the lights off, but even better at night with the lights on!
Yup, I’m a firm believer in “birthday weeks”, so this baby will celebrate my baby all week.
So easy, and if you saw Miss Chloë’s face, you’d know that it was a success!
So Happy Birthday to my baby girl… the caring, creative, determined, brilliant and beautiful fruit of my womb. lol
(Yes, both my kids have a LOT of character – I’ve cultivated it over years of making embarrassing comments like that one! lol)
More than the earth and the wind and all the water in the ocean Beans.

Now I have two teenagers in this house…
Lord help me!
