A more minimal Christmas front porch this year, but still warm, welcoming and something that will last all winter long.
Popping in this morning to show off my simple, understated Christmas front porch.
My goal this Holiday season was to come up with something small and unassuming that would last the entire winter long. (ie no big bows or sparkles etc)
I took the rounded top lanterns I made last year out to my favourite nursery and had them fill the base with greens… this is what we ended up with:
I love it so much!
I have three sizes of the lanterns, so I spaced them out and added logs underneath one to change up the heights.
The coir mat I purchased from CraftsCorner and had it custom made to direct delivery people to put any incoming packaged inside the bench at the edge of my porch.
So far 3 out of 4 delivery drivers have ignored the message and put my packages right ON the mat. 🤦🏻♀️
I washed down the door, sidelights and mailbox and brought out a wreath I purchased a few years ago and hung it on my favourite wreath hanger on the front door. (Amazon affiliate link)
The red is so striking against the black and is easily changed out to go from a Christmas front porch to a winter porch with just a swap out of the wreath.
I may bring out the vintage sled I built several years ago but for now I like this more minimal look. My Christmas front porch is (hopefully) warm and inviting and just festive enough that I can leave it out all winter and enjoy the beautiful job the nursery did.
Did I mention that they added greenery to match my window boxes from the post the other day?
I’m all coordinated and fancy!!
Can’t wait to see this lit up at night with the warm glow of the candles.
IF I can keep them lit with the winter winds we have coming in. 🤦🏻♀️
Have a great one!
