Sunshine bags – with free printable label

In this isolated, quarantined, socially distanced and stay-at-home world, finding things to do can be exhausting.  I decided to challenge my girls to come up with Sunshine bags for friends and family and it brightened both our and their day immeasurably.

Good morning friends!

How’s isolation treating you?

I’m lucky in that I am a (non-essential really) essential worker, so I’m able to get out of the house for a few hours each day and have a change of scenery and some (distanced) […]

Free Fall Desktop Wallpapers / Fall Screensavers

Use these free Fall desktop wallpapers / Fall screensavers to decorate your workspace.  If you can’t be outside, you can dream about it right?

A couple of years ago I compiled some of my favourite desktop wallpapers/screensavers into one easy, clickable blog post.

That post continues to see traffic today, so I figured I’d create a few more Fall inspired wallpapers so you can change out your dreary desktop for something crisp, cool and Autumn.

Click on any of the individual images to […]

Easter Egg Hunt Invitation and Easter Scavenger Hunt printable

We’re just under a month out, so I thought I’d get us all organized by bringing out the Easter Scavenger Hunt printables and the Easter Egg Hunt Invitations.

Each year my street gets together to hold an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids.  It’s been going on for years now – I’m pretty sure if I searched my computer I’d find shots of the girls at 3 years old (they are now 9 and 11), so I think it’s safe to say […]

Age Appropriate Chores for Kids

I’ve posted these age-appropriate chores for kids lists on the blog before, but it was only this January that Hubby and I decided to really enforce cooperation.

Maybe it’s just that this year we have the power of the iPad to encourage compliance – no chores, no screen time.

Whatever the incentive/pressure, the girls have stepped up their game and have actually been doing the  majority of the chores on the list!  I’m happy-wiggling in my seat!  Beds are getting made, laundry […]

You’ve Been Boo’d III

This is a repeat/redundant post that I do every single year, and will continue to do until my girls are too old to enjoy surprise treats – our annual “You’ve Been Boo’d”.

If you haven’t seen my Boo’d I and Boo’d II posts, the idea is to package up a few pre-Hallowe’en goodies, along with the “You’ve Been Boo’d” poem then drop your gifts off at friends homes by ringing and running.

My girls LOVE the ring and run part […]

100 Things 2 Do This Summer

If you’ve followed the blog over the past few years, you will have seen this “100 Things 2 Do This Summer” list – but for those of you that are new, it’s worth repeating…

Three years ago I was faced with the challenge of staying home with my kids all summer long. My employer had retired and there was no benefit to seeking other employment at the beginning of summer when I’d just have to pay out daycare expenses.
