Just a few small, festive touches can take your bedroom from everyday to a cozy Christmas retreat.
This is part 2 of my Holiday Home Tour – done piecemeal because no two rooms are ever tidy at the same time.
If you want to see the 100Things2Do Christmas tree 2018 and family room decor click over, but for today I’m going to show how I incorporated a few simple ornaments to ramp up the Holiday cozy in my Christmas bedroom.
It all started with this pillow:
I saw this at HomeSense a few weeks ago and I couldn’t resist – it was one of those “I MUST HAVE” things. A bit traditional – but reminiscent of Christmas Vacation at the same time – this pillow brings a smile to my face every time I see it!
The bedding was a splurge from Crate & Barrel last Spring and comes in several different colours (wait, it’s on sale now!) I love it for the beautiful texture, but as an added bonus, the duvet cover is really warm and cozy as well. (Highly recommend)
I brought in a throw (also from HomeSense) and a couple of dollar store copper(ish) mugs to give the impression that I actually have time to snuggle in bed with cocoa.
Ah, Christmas dreams.
You would have laughed at me for how many times I threw and re-threw that throw blanket to try to make it look like it had just been casually tossed there. (Darn you interior design bloggers – setting the ‘messy’ bar too high!)
On my nightstand I added a hint of Christmas with my metal reindeer and a crystal (look) candle.
I bought the reindeer years ago and I absolutely adore him. I haven’t seen ones like it since, but I do have a full tutorial in my 100Things2Do Christmas book if you want to make your own.
I usually put up a tree in my Christmas bedroom, but after flocking, setting up, and decorating two others in the family room and dining room, I lost motivation. I may still put it up over the next week or two, but for now I’m admiring the lights from the little Christmas village on my dresser.
Six tea light houses and a bottle-brush tree – barely an arm-load coming up from the basement.
But enough to cast a pretty glow at night.
As if snuggling in a warm bed on a cold Winter’s night wasn’t enough incentive; add a few Holiday baubles and create your own Christmas bedroom without much work.

I’ve already promised myself a day off after a lot of running around lately, so if you’re looking for me – I’ll be here WITH mugs full of cocoa and an exciting new book.
Have a great one!
